This five-stop driving itinerary leads from the cultural heart of southern Poland up through the Tatra foothills and across the historic lowlands to the Baltic coast. Begin with several nights in Kraków to explore its medieval Old Town, Wawel Castle and lively market squares. Drive south into the Tatra Mountains to Zakopane, a mountain resort town famed for wooden architecture, highland culture and alpine walks — an ideal place for scenic hikes, cable-car views and regional highlander cuisine.
