Before you start – the most common questions

How do I plan a backpacking trip on a small budget?

Add cost items for accommodation, transport and food per stop and switch on "per night" or "per person". That way you instantly see what each leg costs and whether your total budget is enough for the planned duration.

Is the planner good for long-term trips over several months?

Yes. You can add as many stops as you like and stretch the timetable over months. The travel dates update automatically when you move nights around or reorder stops – ideal for open, long routes.

Can I plan flexibly without fixed dates?

Yes. Just set up a route of the stops you want without locking in every night. You have a rough plan for orientation and can add, drop or rearrange stops at any time while on the road.

Where do I enter hostels and accommodation?

For every stop you can record the accommodation as a note and as a cost item – from a booked hostel to a couchsurfing contact. On top of that the planner shows one hotel suggestion with a price per place, which you can use to calibrate your budget.

Is the trip planner really free?

Yes, completely. Plan trips, build your route, calculate your budget, create a timetable and share it – all at no cost and with no limits. We only earn from optional booking links (e.g. Booking, Omio, Skyscanner) if you actually use them.

Can I plan a trip together with other people?

Yes. Open "Share" on a saved trip, create a password-protected collaborator link and send it to your travel companions. Anyone who opens the link and knows the password becomes a co-owner and can edit the route, stops, timetable and budget with you. Changes sync in real time.

What does the AI do in the planner – and what doesn't it?

You describe your trip in the chat and the AI builds a complete draft from it (stops, overnight stays, a rough timetable) straight into the editor. After that you're in control: everything can be changed by hand. The AI doesn't book anything and doesn't give live prices – it's your idea generator and quick start.

Do I have to register?

Not to try it out – pick a planner and get going right away. To save permanently and keep editing later you need a free account. Anything you created as a guest is automatically linked to your account once you sign in.
